Narrative:

I was approaching lancaster airport. When I was approximately 10 mi from the lancaster airport, I contacted the lancaster tower on, 120.9 and was told to call again when I was on a 2 mi final for runway 26. I called as requested a 2 mi final for runway 26, and received no response, I repeated my call at 1 1/2 mi for runway 26. No response. I called at 1 mi for final on runway 26, still no response. I called at short final for runway 26, no response. Hearing the tower working other aircraft and not receiving clearance to land, I aborted my landing. It was at this point the tower called and wanted to know what aircraft had made the approach to the runway. I informed them it was my aircraft as I made a missed approach, joining a left downwind for runway 26. I received no further reply to my call, and did not get permission to land until I had proceeded approximately 5 mi east of the airport, on an extended downwind leg before I was again given permission to land on runway 26. After landing, I was held on the taxiway for an extended period of time, before given permission to taxi to tiedown area. Upon leaving and contacting ground control, I was told to taxi to runway 31 for an eastbound departure. At the hold line before taking the active and trying to contact the tower, after a long delay the tower wanted to know who had given me permission to taxi out for takeoff. Returning to my home airport, I had my radios checked. I informed the technician of not being able to call lancaster tower on either of the 2 radios on board my aircraft. Both radios were checked and pronounced in good working order.

Narrative: I WAS APCHING LANCASTER ARPT. WHEN I WAS APPROX 10 MI FROM THE LANCASTER ARPT, I CONTACTED THE LANCASTER TWR ON, 120.9 AND WAS TOLD TO CALL AGAIN WHEN I WAS ON A 2 MI FINAL FOR RWY 26. I CALLED AS REQUESTED A 2 MI FINAL FOR RWY 26, AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE, I REPEATED MY CALL AT 1 1/2 MI FOR RWY 26. NO RESPONSE. I CALLED AT 1 MI FOR FINAL ON RWY 26, STILL NO RESPONSE. I CALLED AT SHORT FINAL FOR RWY 26, NO RESPONSE. HEARING THE TWR WORKING OTHER ACFT AND NOT RECEIVING CLRNC TO LAND, I ABORTED MY LNDG. IT WAS AT THIS POINT THE TWR CALLED AND WANTED TO KNOW WHAT ACFT HAD MADE THE APCH TO THE RWY. I INFORMED THEM IT WAS MY ACFT AS I MADE A MISSED APCH, JOINING A L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 26. I RECEIVED NO FURTHER REPLY TO MY CALL, AND DID NOT GET PERMISSION TO LAND UNTIL I HAD PROCEEDED APPROX 5 MI E OF THE ARPT, ON AN EXTENDED DOWNWIND LEG BEFORE I WAS AGAIN GIVEN PERMISSION TO LAND ON RWY 26. AFTER LNDG, I WAS HELD ON THE TXWY FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, BEFORE GIVEN PERMISSION TO TAXI TO TIEDOWN AREA. UPON LEAVING AND CONTACTING GND CTL, I WAS TOLD TO TAXI TO RWY 31 FOR AN EBOUND DEP. AT THE HOLD LINE BEFORE TAKING THE ACTIVE AND TRYING TO CONTACT THE TWR, AFTER A LONG DELAY THE TWR WANTED TO KNOW WHO HAD GIVEN ME PERMISSION TO TAXI OUT FOR TKOF. RETURNING TO MY HOME ARPT, I HAD MY RADIOS CHKED. I INFORMED THE TECHNICIAN OF NOT BEING ABLE TO CALL LANCASTER TWR ON EITHER OF THE 2 RADIOS ON BOARD MY ACFT. BOTH RADIOS WERE CHKED AND PRONOUNCED IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.
