Narrative:

Several hours after takeoff from fco dispatch informed me that the aircraft was over maximum ramp weight and exceeded maximum takeoff weight due to an error in calculating weight of cargo. Load closeout showed weight slightly under plan and cargo weight slightly under plan, making actual takeoff weight shown on load closeout to be approximately 10000 pounds under maximum takeoff weight. Based on information provided en route, aircraft weighed 12320 pounds more than the load closeout showed, exceeding maximum takeoff weight by 2545 pounds and exceeding maximum ramp weight by 2995 pounds. I requested an off-load audit at ord. This meant that identify numbers on cargo containers were verified against what was supposed to be on the aircraft. Position of containers within the cargo compartments was also verified. I am not totally sure if we were actually overweight or not. Obviously somebody has to be correct and somebody made an error on the weight calculation, but load closeout numbers were close to those on the plan. What I would like to know is: how much did the cargo actually weigh?

Title: A B767 FLT CREW RECEIVE WORD FROM DISPATCH WHILE ENRTE, THAT THE TKOF WAS OVERWT DUE TO A CALCULATION ERROR.

Narrative: SEVERAL HRS AFTER TKOF FROM FCO DISPATCH INFORMED ME THAT THE ACFT WAS OVER MAX RAMP WT AND EXCEEDED MAX TKOF WT DUE TO AN ERROR IN CALCULATING WT OF CARGO. LOAD CLOSEOUT SHOWED WT SLIGHTLY UNDER PLAN AND CARGO WT SLIGHTLY UNDER PLAN, MAKING ACTUAL TKOF WT SHOWN ON LOAD CLOSEOUT TO BE APPROX 10000 LBS UNDER MAX TKOF WT. BASED ON INFO PROVIDED ENRTE, ACFT WEIGHED 12320 LBS MORE THAN THE LOAD CLOSEOUT SHOWED, EXCEEDING MAX TKOF WT BY 2545 LBS AND EXCEEDING MAX RAMP WT BY 2995 LBS. I REQUESTED AN OFF-LOAD AUDIT AT ORD. THIS MEANT THAT IDENT NUMBERS ON CARGO CONTAINERS WERE VERIFIED AGAINST WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE ACFT. POS OF CONTAINERS WITHIN THE CARGO COMPARTMENTS WAS ALSO VERIFIED. I AM NOT TOTALLY SURE IF WE WERE ACTUALLY OVERWT OR NOT. OBVIOUSLY SOMEBODY HAS TO BE CORRECT AND SOMEBODY MADE AN ERROR ON THE WT CALCULATION, BUT LOAD CLOSEOUT NUMBERS WERE CLOSE TO THOSE ON THE PLAN. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS: HOW MUCH DID THE CARGO ACTUALLY WEIGH?
