Narrative:

Traveling to austin using GPS and had spoken to local tower in the dfw area. GPS showed restr zone and we stayed clear of that area, but was informed that the area was enlarged by secret service representatives after the fact. Was never told by traffic controllers of the NOTAM and was flying in no one's airspace (except crawford's) corrective. Will not fly again with only GPS system and will ask if government official is in town and will check for NOTAMS.

Narrative: TRAVELING TO AUSTIN USING GPS AND HAD SPOKEN TO LCL TWR IN THE DFW AREA. GPS SHOWED RESTR ZONE AND WE STAYED CLR OF THAT AREA, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AREA WAS ENLARGED BY SECRET SVC REPRESENTATIVES AFTER THE FACT. WAS NEVER TOLD BY TFC CTLRS OF THE NOTAM AND WAS FLYING IN NO ONE'S AIRSPACE (EXCEPT CRAWFORD'S) CORRECTIVE. WILL NOT FLY AGAIN WITH ONLY GPS SYS AND WILL ASK IF GOV OFFICIAL IS IN TOWN AND WILL CHK FOR NOTAMS.
