Narrative:
Just picked up plane after being painted at ajo. Attempted takeoff twice -- static holes and pitot tube painted over. Left corona airport to intercept pom VOR. Received radar vectors to pom, was then instructed to intercept V186 vny. I opened venting to get fresh air. Then started to set up panel for intercept. I moved my bug heading when paint chips and dust blew out of air intake tubes. I got dust and chips in my eyes and lost focus and concentration. I lost altitude and forgot to change my VOR frequency from pom to vny. I made wrong turn to intercept. Controller had me make sharp right turn to avoid aircraft. I should have told (disclose) ATC about problem and asked for help.

Title: A C337 PLT HAS TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION ISSUED BY SCT TO AVOID ANOTHER ACFT AFTER THE PLT IS DISTR WITH A PAINTED OVER PITOT TUBE AND STATIC PORT AND DUST DEBRIS.
Narrative: JUST PICKED UP PLANE AFTER BEING PAINTED AT AJO. ATTEMPTED TKOF TWICE -- STATIC HOLES AND PITOT TUBE PAINTED OVER. LEFT CORONA ARPT TO INTERCEPT POM VOR. I LOST ALT AND FORGOT TO CHANGE MY VOR FREQ FROM POM TO VNY. I MADE WRONG TURN TO INTERCEPT. CTLR HAD ME MAKE SHARP R TURN TO AVOID ACFT. I SHOULD HAVE TOLD (DISCLOSE) ATC ABOUT PROB AND ASKED FOR HELP.
