Narrative:

I flew VFR from the hqz to rbd for maintenance. The flight took approximately 10 mins. I had arranged to have the transponder and static system certified while the aircraft maintenance was being done there at rbd. Although, based upon my calculations, the test would be done several months prior to being due, I had opted to have the certification done early for the sake of convenience.

Title: A BE55 PLT TAKES THE ACFT TO AN ARPT TO HAVE THE 24 MONTH XPONDER CHK, ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THE CHK HAD ALREADY EXPIRED.

Narrative: I FLEW VFR FROM THE HQZ TO RBD FOR MAINT. THE FLT TOOK APPROX 10 MINS. I HAD ARRANGED TO HAVE THE XPONDER AND STATIC SYS CERTIFIED WHILE THE ACFT MAINT WAS BEING DONE THERE AT RBD. ALTHOUGH, BASED UPON MY CALCULATIONS, THE TEST WOULD BE DONE SEVERAL MONTHS PRIOR TO BEING DUE, I HAD OPTED TO HAVE THE CERTIFICATION DONE EARLY FOR THE SAKE OF CONVENIENCE.
