Narrative:

Departing las vegas to seattle. Arrived at the aircraft with the flight release containing filed flight plan routing. During preflight, I saw the first officer had already entered a route into the FMGS. I saw the idale 2 departure was already entered with the oal transition. The arrival he had entered was incorrect, so I changed that to the oly 4 STAR in seattle. I didn't check every waypoint in the departure against the STAR in the commercial plate. After takeoff on climb out over idale intersection, the aircraft was on autoplt and began a turn toward the northwest. My range on the navigation display was still set at 10 mi, so I wouldn't have been able to see the next waypoint. If it had been in a higher range, might have seen that the next 2 waypoints -- shead and binkr -- were not on the route. The autoplt was turning direct to oal. Just as we were beginning to realize something was not right, ATC gave us a heading of 180 degrees then shortly after we got a TCASII RA to descend at 1500 FPM, which we followed. Then ATC turned us direct to shead and we resumed the departure. Obviously, the situation was caused by my failure to adequately check the routing in the FMGC prior to departure, and failing to closely monitor our track after takeoff. The solution to this can only be more vigilance and less complacency.

Title: A319 DEP FROM LAS FAILS TO COMPLY WITH ATC ASSIGNED RTE.

Narrative: DEPARTING LAS VEGAS TO SEATTLE. ARRIVED AT THE ACFT WITH THE FLT RELEASE CONTAINING FILED FLT PLAN ROUTING. DURING PREFLT, I SAW THE FO HAD ALREADY ENTERED A RTE INTO THE FMGS. I SAW THE IDALE 2 DEP WAS ALREADY ENTERED WITH THE OAL TRANSITION. THE ARR HE HAD ENTERED WAS INCORRECT, SO I CHANGED THAT TO THE OLY 4 STAR IN SEATTLE. I DIDN'T CHK EVERY WAYPOINT IN THE DEP AGAINST THE STAR IN THE COMMERCIAL PLATE. AFTER TKOF ON CLBOUT OVER IDALE INTXN, THE ACFT WAS ON AUTOPLT AND BEGAN A TURN TOWARD THE NW. MY RANGE ON THE NAV DISPLAY WAS STILL SET AT 10 MI, SO I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE THE NEXT WAYPOINT. IF IT HAD BEEN IN A HIGHER RANGE, MIGHT HAVE SEEN THAT THE NEXT 2 WAYPOINTS -- SHEAD AND BINKR -- WERE NOT ON THE RTE. THE AUTOPLT WAS TURNING DIRECT TO OAL. JUST AS WE WERE BEGINNING TO REALIZE SOMETHING WAS NOT RIGHT, ATC GAVE US A HDG OF 180 DEGS THEN SHORTLY AFTER WE GOT A TCASII RA TO DSND AT 1500 FPM, WHICH WE FOLLOWED. THEN ATC TURNED US DIRECT TO SHEAD AND WE RESUMED THE DEP. OBVIOUSLY, THE SIT WAS CAUSED BY MY FAILURE TO ADEQUATELY CHK THE ROUTING IN THE FMGC PRIOR TO DEP, AND FAILING TO CLOSELY MONITOR OUR TRACK AFTER TKOF. THE SOLUTION TO THIS CAN ONLY BE MORE VIGILANCE AND LESS COMPLACENCY.
