On R763 approaching tocco, encountered 120 NM wide line of thunderstorms totally blocking airway. Requested WX deviation via comrdo. Was forced to invoke emergency authority/authorized to deviate approximately 80 NM east of airway to get around line of WX. Response time is pitifully slow in these sits. Returned to course by leton.
