Narrative:

On aug/thu/03 approximately XA50, I performed a test flight on aircraft. It was required due to elevator tab right&right. Day shift completed elevator readjustment after it failed the first test flight. They turned aircraft over to swing shift. Only items left open were an eyebrow window and to correct rig on ailerons (plane was rolling to right during test). Myself and another technician corrected rig on ailerons, then asked to do test flight and was handed paperwork and told that only 2 turns of trim on aircraft with titanium rods. Performed test flight, concentrating on aircraft ailerons. No roll, flew great. Then I performed the manual reversion for elevator. Aircraft took slow nose down attitude. We trimmed for straight and level flight. She took 9 turns, I was thinking trim to nose down was my 2 turns, and trim to 19 right turns was maximum, so 9 turns...will pass. It was not till next day going to work it clicked that aircraft was a -300, not a -700. I performed test flts on -700 every wkend for the past several months due to elevator right&right's. So I had to get aircraft on ground. Got to work and told technician. We notified maintenance control per as soon as possible procedures, then I made the call to as soon as possible.

Title: A B737-300 ELEVATOR TRIM TAB MANUAL REVERSION CHK AND ADJUSTMENT WAS ADJUSTED USING THE B737-700 PROCS.

Narrative: ON AUG/THU/03 APPROX XA50, I PERFORMED A TEST FLT ON ACFT. IT WAS REQUIRED DUE TO ELEVATOR TAB R&R. DAY SHIFT COMPLETED ELEVATOR READJUSTMENT AFTER IT FAILED THE FIRST TEST FLT. THEY TURNED ACFT OVER TO SWING SHIFT. ONLY ITEMS LEFT OPEN WERE AN EYEBROW WINDOW AND TO CORRECT RIG ON AILERONS (PLANE WAS ROLLING TO R DURING TEST). MYSELF AND ANOTHER TECHNICIAN CORRECTED RIG ON AILERONS, THEN ASKED TO DO TEST FLT AND WAS HANDED PAPERWORK AND TOLD THAT ONLY 2 TURNS OF TRIM ON ACFT WITH TITANIUM RODS. PERFORMED TEST FLT, CONCENTRATING ON ACFT AILERONS. NO ROLL, FLEW GREAT. THEN I PERFORMED THE MANUAL REVERSION FOR ELEVATOR. ACFT TOOK SLOW NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. WE TRIMMED FOR STRAIGHT AND LEVEL FLT. SHE TOOK 9 TURNS, I WAS THINKING TRIM TO NOSE DOWN WAS MY 2 TURNS, AND TRIM TO 19 R TURNS WAS MAX, SO 9 TURNS...WILL PASS. IT WAS NOT TILL NEXT DAY GOING TO WORK IT CLICKED THAT ACFT WAS A -300, NOT A -700. I PERFORMED TEST FLTS ON -700 EVERY WKEND FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS DUE TO ELEVATOR R&R'S. SO I HAD TO GET ACFT ON GND. GOT TO WORK AND TOLD TECHNICIAN. WE NOTIFIED MAINT CTL PER ASAP PROCS, THEN I MADE THE CALL TO ASAP.
