Narrative:

On approach to runway 9R at ord, the flaps malfunctioned during extension. We executed a missed approach, declared an emergency and performed the appropriate emergency checklist. Returned to ord and landed safely. Supplemental information from acn 589730: on final when flaps 20 degrees were selected, an EICAS message of flap disagree, came up. The checklist was accomplished and an emergency landing was done with flaps 20 degrees as per checklist.
