Narrative:

Ground crew requested brake release while awaiting pushback clearance. A minor maintenance problem was discovered and captain reset parking brakes. After problem was resolved, captain cleared ground crew to push, stating, brakes released. The towbar was damaged when the crew attempted to push with the parking brake set. Nose gear inspected by mechanic with no problems noted.

Title: A320 FLT CREW AND GND CREW DID NOT COORDINATE RELEASING THE PARKING BRAKES AFTER MINOR MAINT REQUIRED THEM TO BE RESET. THE TOWBAR WAS DAMAGED AFTER THE TUG DRIVER ATTEMPTED PUSHBACK WITH THE ACFT BRAKES SET.
