Narrative:

I was in level cruise at 3800 ft MSL, going nne, near niles canyon. I was thus 200 ft below the floor of the sfo class B. I spotted an air carrier X jet descending out of class B, (probably) on approach to oak. The jet's track was in a southwesterly direction. I felt that the jet was going to pass beneath and quite close to my flight path. I therefore initiated a climb to increase our separation. The climb caused my aircraft to enter class B airspace momentarily. I arrested the climb at 4100 ft MSL and descended out of class B. I could have avoided the problem altogether by flying nne across the sunol gap rather than near niles canyon. This would have given me a much larger margin of separation from jets on approach to oak from the east.

Title: PA28 DEPARTING BAY AREA ENTERED SFO CLASS B TO AVOID ACR LNDG OAK.

Narrative: I WAS IN LEVEL CRUISE AT 3800 FT MSL, GOING NNE, NEAR NILES CANYON. I WAS THUS 200 FT BELOW THE FLOOR OF THE SFO CLASS B. I SPOTTED AN ACR X JET DSNDING OUT OF CLASS B, (PROBABLY) ON APCH TO OAK. THE JET'S TRACK WAS IN A SOUTHWESTERLY DIRECTION. I FELT THAT THE JET WAS GOING TO PASS BENEATH AND QUITE CLOSE TO MY FLT PATH. I THEREFORE INITIATED A CLB TO INCREASE OUR SEPARATION. THE CLB CAUSED MY ACFT TO ENTER CLASS B AIRSPACE MOMENTARILY. I ARRESTED THE CLB AT 4100 FT MSL AND DSNDED OUT OF CLASS B. I COULD HAVE AVOIDED THE PROB ALTOGETHER BY FLYING NNE ACROSS THE SUNOL GAP RATHER THAN NEAR NILES CANYON. THIS WOULD HAVE GIVEN ME A MUCH LARGER MARGIN OF SEPARATION FROM JETS ON APCH TO OAK FROM THE E.
