Narrative:
My crew and I picked nxxxx for a hou turn. On arrival at the gate, we were met by an FAA inspector who advised that she would be doing a cabin inspection to hou. All was going fine until flight attendant found a post-it note stuck on one of the coffee pots that read, 'this coffee pot inoperative per maintenance.' there was no signature, just a smiley face drawn at the bottom. The FAA inspector had seen the note. The note was brought to me. I entered the description in the logbook and called maintenance. Maintenance replaced the coffee pot and signed off the logbook. The FAA inspector kept the note. I asked for a copy of it and she advised that she would make me a copy. Did not see her again.
