Narrative:

On a scheduled departure out of sfb airport. After departing runway 27R and while on a climbing right turn to the east, #3 engine fire warning light illuminated and bell sounded. The appropriate checklists were accomplished, engine was shut down, and there was no need to activate a fire bottle. The appropriate ATC was notified, and the engine shut down, and vectors to return to sfb were requested. A determination of an overweight landing was made due to considerations such as congestion of traffic and WX outside of the sfb airspace. At the gate, all of the appropriate maintenance items were entered in the logbook followed by a thorough verbal description of the event to maintenance personnel.
