Narrative:

With engine started received taxi clearance to taxi to runway 24. Looked up to see if any movement on ramp, saw that nothing was moving. Plan to taxi across what appeared to be a painted portion of ramp. Making my right turn out I lost sight of the area, felt a thump and heard the propeller striking an object. I shut down both engines and then noticed that I taxied into an approximately 12 inch high helicopter pad. Damage to propeller extensive, engine unknown, no injuries.

Narrative: WITH ENG STARTED RECEIVED TAXI CLRNC TO TAXI TO RWY 24. LOOKED UP TO SEE IF ANY MOVEMENT ON RAMP, SAW THAT NOTHING WAS MOVING. PLAN TO TAXI ACROSS WHAT APPEARED TO BE A PAINTED PORTION OF RAMP. MAKING MY R TURN OUT I LOST SIGHT OF THE AREA, FELT A THUMP AND HEARD THE PROP STRIKING AN OBJECT. I SHUT DOWN BOTH ENGS AND THEN NOTICED THAT I TAXIED INTO AN APPROX 12 INCH HIGH HELI PAD. DAMAGE TO PROP EXTENSIVE, ENG UNKNOWN, NO INJURIES.
