Narrative:

Heavy jet on vectors for visual approach crossed runway 36R localizer, and had to be turned back (6 mi southwest of mem) to get airport in sight for visual. FK27 was on close-in base for runway 36L. Potential for unstable approach was my main concern, but loss of separation with FK27 could have occurred, had the heavy jet not turned to northeast so tight. I either failed to instruct the heavy to join runway 36R localizer, or pilot failed to join, unable to determine without listening to tape recording.

Title: MEM CTLR CONCERNED WITH HEAVY JET FINAL OVERSHOT DURING SIMULTANEOUS APCH PROCS.

Narrative: HEAVY JET ON VECTORS FOR VISUAL APCH CROSSED RWY 36R LOC, AND HAD TO BE TURNED BACK (6 MI SW OF MEM) TO GET ARPT IN SIGHT FOR VISUAL. FK27 WAS ON CLOSE-IN BASE FOR RWY 36L. POTENTIAL FOR UNSTABLE APCH WAS MY MAIN CONCERN, BUT LOSS OF SEPARATION WITH FK27 COULD HAVE OCCURRED, HAD THE HEAVY JET NOT TURNED TO NE SO TIGHT. I EITHER FAILED TO INSTRUCT THE HEAVY TO JOIN RWY 36R LOC, OR PLT FAILED TO JOIN, UNABLE TO DETERMINE WITHOUT LISTENING TO TAPE RECORDING.
