Narrative:

During teterboro 5 departure initial leveloff altitude was deviated from. ATC caught deviation and aircraft was returned to correct altitude. Reason for deviation was incorrect departure briefing and altitude preselect selection. Situation could have been avoided if both crew members would have independently viewed the departure procedure. Contributing factors to incident: 1) thunderstorms in vicinity, 2) full route clearance changes prior to departure, 3) high volume of traffic causing ground stops, and 4) passenger early arrival. Situation has been discussed and revised pre-departure procedures are in place to independently review all sids prior to departure.
