Narrative:

Our flight attendant called up to the cockpit and claimed she was sure a passenger had just smoked in the aircraft lavatory due to the smoke smell in the cabin and on the person. We asked her to confront the passenger and ask whether he had indeed smoked in the lavatory and to remind him of our no smoking policy as well as the fact that it was a federal offense. The passenger replied in a cavalier attitude that he did not smoke in the cabin. We followed the procedures outlined in our operations manual and had law enforcement meet the passenger upon our arrival.
