Narrative:

Taxiing out of the gates of dfw to the active runway for takeoff, I followed what I thought was the correct clearance. The taxi route that I followed was in fact the incorrect one. The result was crossing paths with a B757. The ground controller informed us of our poor ability to follow directions, and provided us with further instructions to help the situation. Upon the initial taxi roll, I noticed a slight vibration from the nosewheel which I think distracted me from paying closer attention to our ATC clrncs. I further contribute my lack of situational awareness to fatigue. This particular flight was the last leg of day 6 which was my second 'back to back' of 5 days on. I will be more cognitive in the future.
