Narrative:

The PIC was training for an initial CFI ride. I was a passenger, but was rated in category and class, but not current in type. The last pattern was to be a simulated power off/180 degree turn to final. The 'gump' check was mentioned and performed minus the gear on downwind. The PIC decided to delay gear extension until satisfied the airport was made. A this point both pilots allowed their attention to be fixated on the spot of intended landing and the abnormal glide path. This took us out of our normal routine of confirming aircraft confign on final. The gear horn did not sound, although we met the parameters for the system to annunciate. We landed gear up on the runway. There were no injuries, and minimal damage to the aircraft. Contributing factors: lack of aircraft familiarization. Complacency due to belief that other pilots experience wouldn't allow an unsafe condition to occur. Inoperative gear horn. Corrective actions: re-emphasize checklist discipline. Increased aircraft familiarization for PNF. Include gear horn test on each flight.
