Narrative:

I departed at approximately XA00 for a short VFR flight to N06 (laurel, de). The WX was clear, visibility unlimited, and winds light. The short flight to N06 was unremarkable. At 10 mi out, I monitored the sby ASOS for winds. Surface winds were reported to be 5-10 KTS at 300 degrees. I entered the downwind leg of the pattern for runway 33 at a 45 degree angle and proceeded with my prelndg check. In the downwind leg, I extended the gear. I also monitored the unicom frequency for other traffic and kept the usual visual lookout. While in the downwind leg, I verified that the gear down and locked indicator was lit. The base leg was unremarkable and on final, I aligned the plane with runway 33 and continued all appropriate radio calls. Unfortunately, at touchdown, the gear was only partly extended. The runway at N06 is unpaved. Thankfully, no one on the flight was injured. In retrospect, I believe a second look at the indicator light on the final leg of the pattern would have helped to verify the position of the landing gear.

Title: C172RG HAS GEAR UP LNDG AT N06.

Narrative: I DEPARTED AT APPROX XA00 FOR A SHORT VFR FLT TO N06 (LAUREL, DE). THE WX WAS CLR, VISIBILITY UNLIMITED, AND WINDS LIGHT. THE SHORT FLT TO N06 WAS UNREMARKABLE. AT 10 MI OUT, I MONITORED THE SBY ASOS FOR WINDS. SURFACE WINDS WERE RPTED TO BE 5-10 KTS AT 300 DEGS. I ENTERED THE DOWNWIND LEG OF THE PATTERN FOR RWY 33 AT A 45 DEG ANGLE AND PROCEEDED WITH MY PRELNDG CHK. IN THE DOWNWIND LEG, I EXTENDED THE GEAR. I ALSO MONITORED THE UNICOM FREQ FOR OTHER TFC AND KEPT THE USUAL VISUAL LOOKOUT. WHILE IN THE DOWNWIND LEG, I VERIFIED THAT THE GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATOR WAS LIT. THE BASE LEG WAS UNREMARKABLE AND ON FINAL, I ALIGNED THE PLANE WITH RWY 33 AND CONTINUED ALL APPROPRIATE RADIO CALLS. UNFORTUNATELY, AT TOUCHDOWN, THE GEAR WAS ONLY PARTLY EXTENDED. THE RWY AT N06 IS UNPAVED. THANKFULLY, NO ONE ON THE FLT WAS INJURED. IN RETROSPECT, I BELIEVE A SECOND LOOK AT THE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE FINAL LEG OF THE PATTERN WOULD HAVE HELPED TO VERIFY THE POS OF THE LNDG GEAR.
