Narrative:

First officer's leg runway 32L, T10 takeoff at ZZZ. At rotation or shortly thereafter, we heard a loud bang from the left side of the airplane. Captain noted an EPR drop, then rise back up to normal. No significant flight control/path deviations noted. Suspect compressor stall. Suspect possible cause was wake from aircraft landing runway 9L at ZZZ (wind was 030 degrees at 10 KTS). This would have held his upwind vortice over the runway. This may have disrupted airflow into the left engine. No ECAM's displayed. Returned to ZZZ with an overweight landing (approximately 157000 pounds). The captain landed the airplane very smoothly on runway 9R. No other problems were noted. Taxied back to gate without further incident. No other malfunctions or problems noted. An emergency was declared as a precautionary measure. Supplemental information from acn 580920: my first officer and I discussed the situation and decided to leave the engine running. I requested an approach to runway 9R because of our overweight landing status.

Title: A320 FLT CREW EXPERIENCES A POSSIBLE ENG COMPRESSOR STALL DURING TKOF FROM ORD AND COMPLETES A RETURN, LAND OVERWT.

Narrative: FO'S LEG RWY 32L, T10 TKOF AT ZZZ. AT ROTATION OR SHORTLY THEREAFTER, WE HEARD A LOUD BANG FROM THE L SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE. CAPT NOTED AN EPR DROP, THEN RISE BACK UP TO NORMAL. NO SIGNIFICANT FLT CTL/PATH DEVS NOTED. SUSPECT COMPRESSOR STALL. SUSPECT POSSIBLE CAUSE WAS WAKE FROM ACFT LNDG RWY 9L AT ZZZ (WIND WAS 030 DEGS AT 10 KTS). THIS WOULD HAVE HELD HIS UPWIND VORTICE OVER THE RWY. THIS MAY HAVE DISRUPTED AIRFLOW INTO THE L ENG. NO ECAM'S DISPLAYED. RETURNED TO ZZZ WITH AN OVERWT LNDG (APPROX 157000 LBS). THE CAPT LANDED THE AIRPLANE VERY SMOOTHLY ON RWY 9R. NO OTHER PROBS WERE NOTED. TAXIED BACK TO GATE WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. NO OTHER MALFUNCTIONS OR PROBS NOTED. AN EMER WAS DECLARED AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 580920: MY FO AND I DISCUSSED THE SIT AND DECIDED TO LEAVE THE ENG RUNNING. I REQUESTED AN APCH TO RWY 9R BECAUSE OF OUR OVERWT LNDG STATUS.
