Narrative:

First officer flying approach (visual) to runway 30R, windshear advisory was on ATIS. Winds reported 360 degrees 14 KTS gusting 19 KTS on ATIS, altimeter 29.97 inches, 16 degrees C/1 degree C temperature/dew point. We elected to fly final at vga, 5 KTS higher than normal. '+10 KTS' and '-8 KTS' airspeed fluctuations noted at 1000 ft AGL. At 1600 ft MSL, red windshear lights and aural 'windshear' were heard, so captain (me) directed go around. As power was applied and speed increased, windshear warning ceased, so we continued maneuver as a go around. Next approach to landing was uneventful. We asked tower if any other aircraft reported any windshear. Only one other, an RJ85 landing after us, reported any loss or gain of airspeed.
