Narrative:

We had departed at XA00 am from grb. Our destination was mke. We were sbound at approximately 10000 ft MSL and in contact with milwaukee ATC when an RA suddenly popped up on our TCASII. It was climbing and we were flying straight and level. At approximately 3 mi indicated on TCASII, I disconnected the autoplt in anticipation of an evasive maneuver. The TCASII said to climb, but the screen indicated that the target was climbing to, or at altitude and leveling. I immediately began a descent and reduced power. My first officer and I saw a learjet pass approximately 500 ft over us going in the opposite direction. If we had been in IMC and unable to see the lear, I doubt that I would be writing this report based on the TCASII RA!

Title: D328 CREW DSNDED ACFT IN RESPONSE TO A TCASII RA THAT DIRECTED A CLB IN MKE CLASS E.

Narrative: WE HAD DEPARTED AT XA00 AM FROM GRB. OUR DEST WAS MKE. WE WERE SBOUND AT APPROX 10000 FT MSL AND IN CONTACT WITH MILWAUKEE ATC WHEN AN RA SUDDENLY POPPED UP ON OUR TCASII. IT WAS CLBING AND WE WERE FLYING STRAIGHT AND LEVEL. AT APPROX 3 MI INDICATED ON TCASII, I DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT IN ANTICIPATION OF AN EVASIVE MANEUVER. THE TCASII SAID TO CLB, BUT THE SCREEN INDICATED THAT THE TARGET WAS CLBING TO, OR AT ALT AND LEVELING. I IMMEDIATELY BEGAN A DSCNT AND REDUCED PWR. MY FO AND I SAW A LEARJET PASS APPROX 500 FT OVER US GOING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. IF WE HAD BEEN IN IMC AND UNABLE TO SEE THE LEAR, I DOUBT THAT I WOULD BE WRITING THIS RPT BASED ON THE TCASII RA!
