Narrative:

Cleared to land runway 31 at abe. Preparing for base to final turn and adjusted mixture to full rich, and engine started to run rough and loose power. Returned mixture to previous setting. There was no change, engine still running rough. As I was close to the ground, I informed abe tower that I had a problem and selected a field in which to land. I started emergency procedures. During procedures, engine returned to full power. All gauges indicated normal. Made a normal landing on originally cleared runway 31.
