Narrative:

VFR flight from base airport 47N, which is under the ny ADIZ to N40 for fueling and scenic flight over catskill mountains. VFR flight plan was filed and squawk code obtained. Departure from N40 was VFR (1200 squawk) and proceeded north. Various attempts to contact flight service on several frequencies were made to file in the air another flight plan. While attempting to navigate outside mode C veil, I apparently wandered approximately half mi or so into the ny ADIZ. My garmin 195 GPS does not show the mode C veil, which made avoiding the airspace a challenge. I called approach and finally got a clearance into class B and back to 47N.
