Narrative:

CRJ7 departing (IFR) runway 24 runway heading. C150 (VFR) class C overflt, instructed to fly heading 270 degrees (30 degrees diverging course) from departing IFR CRJ7. Issued TA to CRJ7, C150 VFR wbound. Tower had both aircraft in sight, applied visual separation and 30 degrees diverging course. Advised C150 to contact approach control. Issued traffic to departing IFR CRJ7 and instructed CRJ7 to contact departure. Approach may have turned VFR swbound prior to talking to IFR CRJ7. In the future I will call approach and advise them why C150 was 270 degree heading reference departure. CRJ7 pilot advised approach C150 was too close.
