Narrative:
On 03/mon/03, I was departing florida for a VFR flight to ny poughkeepsie/duchess county. I called st petersburg FSS for weather and received a briefing noting mostly no clouds below 20000 ft weather no problem VFR entire route. The briefer asked if I knew of the tfr's over ny and wash. I said no, what are they? He said, 'too many pages, that I would need to print out.' he asked 'where is poughkeepsie?' I said, '60 miles north of nyc.' he indicated strongly that there were too many tfr's to list, but said if I could file IFR. (My transponder and dg had been intermittent also.) given the clear unlimited visibility and ceiling and in-operation instruments, I stayed well clear of ny class B by flying 15500 and stayed well outside laterally using sbj VOR then flew north then east to poughkeepsie all VFR. I discovered the violation of the 30 mile outer ring when I heard the ATIS at poughkeepsie advising 'no flts within 30 miles of poughkeepsie, discrete code needed!!' I realized that I had been just inside the 30 mile but well outside class B vertical and lateral bounds. Too late for any corrective action. I strongly believe if the briefer had told me simply no flts below 18000 and 30 NM of nyc I would not have flown that route. I've made the trip many times VFR and IFR over same route in past 16 years. This was a simple tfr and could have been easily avoided had I been given the specifics when I asked the FSS briefer.

Title: M20P PLT ENTERED NY ADIZ AIRSPACE WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: ON 03/MON/03, I WAS DEPARTING FLORIDA FOR A VFR FLT TO NY POUGHKEEPSIE/DUCHESS COUNTY. I CALLED ST PETERSBURG FSS FOR WEATHER AND RECEIVED A BRIEFING NOTING MOSTLY NO CLOUDS BELOW 20000 FT WEATHER NO PROB VFR ENTIRE ROUTE. THE BRIEFER ASKED IF I KNEW OF THE TFR'S OVER NY AND WASH. I SAID NO, WHAT ARE THEY? HE SAID, 'TOO MANY PAGES, THAT I WOULD NEED TO PRINT OUT.' HE ASKED 'WHERE IS POUGHKEEPSIE?' I SAID, '60 MILES N OF NYC.' HE INDICATED STRONGLY THAT THERE WERE TOO MANY TFR'S TO LIST, BUT SAID IF I COULD FILE IFR. (MY XPONDER AND DG HAD BEEN INTERMITTENT ALSO.) GIVEN THE CLR UNLIMITED VISIBILITY AND CEILING AND IN-OP INSTRUMENTS, I STAYED WELL CLR OF NY CLASS B BY FLYING 15500 AND STAYED WELL OUTSIDE LATERALLY USING SBJ VOR THEN FLEW N THEN E TO POUGHKEEPSIE ALL VFR. I STRONGLY BELIEVE IF THE BRIEFER HAD TOLD ME SIMPLY NO FLTS BELOW 18000 AND 30 NM OF NYC I WOULD NOT HAVE FLOWN THAT RTE. I'VE MADE THE TRIP MANY TIMES VFR AND IFR OVER SAME RTE IN PAST 16 YEARS. THIS WAS A SIMPLE TFR AND COULD HAVE BEEN EASILY AVOIDED HAD I BEEN GIVEN THE SPECIFICS WHEN I ASKED THE FSS BRIEFER.
