Narrative:

Male passenger in his 60-70's tried to give a male child a glass of water. The child was seated next to him and he wasn't traveling with the child (approximately 8 yrs old). #2 flight attendant determined passenger was intoxicated and drinking jack daniels from his own bottle under his seat. Family of 3 were relocated to first class seats. The inebriated passenger, in last row in coach, laid down to sleep. While he was sleeping, we removed the bottle of liquor and kept it for the duration of the flight. We gave him pretzels, sprite, and water to drink when he was awake. Passenger did not cause any further disturbance and was watched by a commuting flight attendant from another carrier who was onboard while we finished our service. Passenger was not noticed during boarding as being intoxicated by any crew member or boarding flight attendant #4 (me). I was assisted at the gate by another agent in boarding, so I may or may not have had contact with this man. Passenger was met by company personnel. He was to continue to orlando the same day. I do not know if he was denied boarding or not. He was with our agents when the crew deplaned. I believe this situation was handled properly. He did not draw attention to himself or disturb anyone else after the children were removed from the seats next to him. We removed his source of liquor and advised him that he could not drink from his own bottle. I would recommend that agents possibly be more aware when boarding passenger of any being intoxicated or carrying, on board, open alcoholic beverages.

Narrative: MALE PAX IN HIS 60-70'S TRIED TO GIVE A MALE CHILD A GLASS OF WATER. THE CHILD WAS SEATED NEXT TO HIM AND HE WASN'T TRAVELING WITH THE CHILD (APPROX 8 YRS OLD). #2 FLT ATTENDANT DETERMINED PAX WAS INTOXICATED AND DRINKING JACK DANIELS FROM HIS OWN BOTTLE UNDER HIS SEAT. FAMILY OF 3 WERE RELOCATED TO FIRST CLASS SEATS. THE INEBRIATED PAX, IN LAST ROW IN COACH, LAID DOWN TO SLEEP. WHILE HE WAS SLEEPING, WE REMOVED THE BOTTLE OF LIQUOR AND KEPT IT FOR THE DURATION OF THE FLT. WE GAVE HIM PRETZELS, SPRITE, AND WATER TO DRINK WHEN HE WAS AWAKE. PAX DID NOT CAUSE ANY FURTHER DISTURBANCE AND WAS WATCHED BY A COMMUTING FLT ATTENDANT FROM ANOTHER CARRIER WHO WAS ONBOARD WHILE WE FINISHED OUR SVC. PAX WAS NOT NOTICED DURING BOARDING AS BEING INTOXICATED BY ANY CREW MEMBER OR BOARDING FLT ATTENDANT #4 (ME). I WAS ASSISTED AT THE GATE BY ANOTHER AGENT IN BOARDING, SO I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE HAD CONTACT WITH THIS MAN. PAX WAS MET BY COMPANY PERSONNEL. HE WAS TO CONTINUE TO ORLANDO THE SAME DAY. I DO NOT KNOW IF HE WAS DENIED BOARDING OR NOT. HE WAS WITH OUR AGENTS WHEN THE CREW DEPLANED. I BELIEVE THIS SIT WAS HANDLED PROPERLY. HE DID NOT DRAW ATTN TO HIMSELF OR DISTURB ANYONE ELSE AFTER THE CHILDREN WERE REMOVED FROM THE SEATS NEXT TO HIM. WE REMOVED HIS SOURCE OF LIQUOR AND ADVISED HIM THAT HE COULD NOT DRINK FROM HIS OWN BOTTLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT AGENTS POSSIBLY BE MORE AWARE WHEN BOARDING PAX OF ANY BEING INTOXICATED OR CARRYING, ON BOARD, OPEN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.
