Narrative:
I have become aware that I might have improperly modified insulation in the aft cargo compartment on an MD80. I repaired with high temperature rtv [silicon sealant]. It has come to my attention that I was supposed to sew it first. I am concerned that this repair is not in compliance with the airworthiness directive.

Narrative: I HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT I MIGHT HAVE IMPROPERLY MODIFIED INSULATION IN THE AFT CARGO COMPARTMENT ON AN MD80. I REPAIRED WITH HIGH TEMP RTV [SILICON SEALANT]. IT HAS COME TO MY ATTN THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO SEW IT FIRST. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS REPAIR IS NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE.
