Narrative:
Shutdown procedure. I was informed approximately 30 mins after arrival in dfw that the succeeding crew discovered the #2 engine was running when they arrived at the aircraft. I do not have other details of the discovery. When we arrived in dfw, I performed the shutdown on the #2 engine after crossing the active departure runway and verifying that the APU was started and operating normally. I completed the taxi in on the #1 engine. At the gate, I used a normal shutdown flow and verified each item complete, including thrust levers, idle, and start stop selectors stop. Prior to locking the cockpit door, I did check the panel to verify batteries off, emergency lights off, start stop selectors stop, dome light off, and parking brake set. After I exited the aircraft, I did observe the first officer completing the postflt inspection.
