Narrative:

Pwring back from gate with 1.2 EPR set on EPR gauges. Come forward signal given, throttles advanced to idle. #2 (amber) thrust reverser unlock light remained on. Aircraft still rolling back, power advanced, aircraft stopped and wave-off received. Then signal given to return to gate. We were notified then that we had knocked over a light pole. No injuries and only minor damage to aircraft. All auths notified. Contributing factors were: dark and very narrow parking ramp, dim hand wands, and pwrback coordinator not walking back with aircraft during pwrback.
