Narrative:

After takeoff on runway 36R, it became immediately apparent that the aircraft was not pressurizing properly. The outflow valve was still open. At about 1000 ft, an attempt to operate the pressurization system in manual was ineffective. We leveled at 5000 ft and took vectors and returned to dfw. The aircraft had a similar pressurization problem previously. Included in the write-up was a needed inspection for a very soft overweight landing.
