Narrative:

We were on taxiway B headed to runway 22L, a B737 came off runway 14R onto taxiway F crossing our path. Appeared B737 turned off lights exiting runway 14R. We saw a black aircraft with a green wing light. Initiated emergency stop. Had no call from ground before or after incident. Told passenger of problem and continued taxi to runway 22L. Estimated stop distance was 30-40 ft prior to B737 wingtip. After landing at pvd, was told flight attendant had re-injured an old back problem. He worked back to ord next day and left the identify.

Title: A320 AIRBUS FLC, WHILE TAXIING, STOPS ABRUPTLY TO AVOID COLLISION WITH ANOTHER ACFT.

Narrative: WE WERE ON TXWY B HEADED TO RWY 22L, A B737 CAME OFF RWY 14R ONTO TXWY F XING OUR PATH. APPEARED B737 TURNED OFF LIGHTS EXITING RWY 14R. WE SAW A BLACK ACFT WITH A GREEN WING LIGHT. AFTER LNDG AT PVD, WAS TOLD FLT ATTENDANT HAD RE-INJURED AN OLD BACK PROB. HE WORKED BACK TO ORD NEXT DAY AND LEFT THE IDENT.
