Narrative:

Our aircraft diverted to msy due to the #1 engine failure in-flight. There was a loud bang, then the aircraft shook for a min or so. Flight attendants followed the captain's instructions to prepare the cabin for a 1 engine landing without the anticipation of a ground evacuate/evacuation. Flight attendants obtained and reviewed emergency procedures. The flight landed at msy with no further incident.

Title: B737-800 FLC DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED TO LAND AFTER INFLT ENG FAILURE.

Narrative: OUR ACFT DIVERTED TO MSY DUE TO THE #1 ENG FAILURE INFLT. THERE WAS A LOUD BANG, THEN THE ACFT SHOOK FOR A MIN OR SO. FLT ATTENDANTS FOLLOWED THE CAPT'S INSTRUCTIONS TO PREPARE THE CABIN FOR A 1 ENG LNDG WITHOUT THE ANTICIPATION OF A GND EVAC. FLT ATTENDANTS OBTAINED AND REVIEWED EMER PROCS. THE FLT LANDED AT MSY WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT.
