Narrative:
On the jiboa departure from sal, the FMS commands a turn to moram prior to reaching the required 8000 ft that the departure procedure demands. We caught this and flew the departure properly. However, I recommend that a message be attached to all flts out of sal warning the crew of this potential pitfall. There is a 7159 ft mountain between the turn point and moram.

Title: B737 FLC OVERRIDES INCORRECT FMS TURN ON PUBLISHED DEP AT SAL.
Narrative: ON THE JIBOA DEP FROM SAL, THE FMS COMMANDS A TURN TO MORAM PRIOR TO REACHING THE REQUIRED 8000 FT THAT THE DEP PROC DEMANDS. WE CAUGHT THIS AND FLEW THE DEP PROPERLY. HOWEVER, I RECOMMEND THAT A MESSAGE BE ATTACHED TO ALL FLTS OUT OF SAL WARNING THE CREW OF THIS POTENTIAL PITFALL. THERE IS A 7159 FT MOUNTAIN BTWN THE TURN POINT AND MORAM.
