Narrative:

On descent into ord, we were presented with a pitch trim 1 inoperative EICAS message with a triple chime. The autoplt was on and the captain was the PF. We followed the procedure in the aom. Neither the captain's nor the first officer's yoke trim switches were actuating the trim, but the standby trim did work. We continued for a normal landing in ord.

Title: COMMUTER JET CREW RPTED THAT THE PRIMARY PITCH TRIM SYS BECOME INOP.

Narrative: ON DSCNT INTO ORD, WE WERE PRESENTED WITH A PITCH TRIM 1 INOP EICAS MESSAGE WITH A TRIPLE CHIME. THE AUTOPLT WAS ON AND THE CAPT WAS THE PF. WE FOLLOWED THE PROC IN THE AOM. NEITHER THE CAPT'S NOR THE FO'S YOKE TRIM SWITCHES WERE ACTUATING THE TRIM, BUT THE STANDBY TRIM DID WORK. WE CONTINUED FOR A NORMAL LNDG IN ORD.
