Narrative:

Person ran in front of aircraft on rotation. About the time the captain called V1, I saw something running left to right across the runway. At first I thought it was some sort of animal. When vr was called, I started to rotate. At that time, I realized it was a person running across the runway. I shouted, 'it's a person,' and pulled back more on the controls to try and miss him, as we went over the top of him, I could see his face and what color his shirt was. He appeared to go under us about where the right engine and right main gear are. We didn't feel any bumps to indicate we had hit him, but it was close. After that, we notified the tower that someone had run in front of us on the runway. Also called company and let them know, and to notify us at destination if there was any indication of somebody on the runway. Operations at our destination told us on landing there that sequ airport operations had called and said nothing was found. We did a thorough walk around at our destination and found no indication of hitting anything. Someone on an active runway is not only a safety threat, but a security threat. Better security at the airports. The agent at our destination told us that 4 or 5 months ago a naked man was on the runway. Equador might have some security issues that need to be addressed.
