Narrative:

We were issued clearance to 10000 ft MSL. At 12000 ft and descending, we received a TA 'reduce descent' and a TA. RA sounded for 'climb, climb' and we complied with (both) commands. We told ATC we were responding to an RA and he said 'ok, maintain 12000 ft.' we advised ATC we had clearance to 10000 ft. My copilot and I agreed that we had indeed received clearance to 10000 ft addressed to us, and confirmed from us. A similar call sign was on frequency and we were in agreement that we were already aware of this complication and were already 'attuned' to the call signs and especially vigilant when the clearance to 10000 ft was received.
