Narrative:

Unconfirmed report from flight attendant of possible passenger smoking in forward lavatory. A passenger reported smelling smoke in lavatory to flight attendant. 2 flight attendants checked lavatory and did not smell smoke or find evidence of smoking (ie, cigarette, etc) when integrity check of lavatory accomplished. Passenger's reporting to flight attendant were in forward coach. Passenger suspected, but not confirmed, of smoking was near reporting passenger. Flight attendant indicated that passenger did not admit to smoking. No smoking sign switch in cockpit was confirmed in 'on/no smoking' position. Maintenance checks accomplished. Uneventful flight to destination completed.

Title: A CASE OF AN ALLEGED SMOKER IN THE FORWARD LAVATORY IS HANDLED BY THE FLT ATTENDANT IN COORD WITH THE PIC AND OTHER FLT ATTENDANT ON FLT ON DSCNT INTO LAS, NV.

Narrative: UNCONFIRMED RPT FROM FLT ATTENDANT OF POSSIBLE PAX SMOKING IN FORWARD LAVATORY. A PAX RPTED SMELLING SMOKE IN LAVATORY TO FLT ATTENDANT. 2 FLT ATTENDANTS CHKED LAVATORY AND DID NOT SMELL SMOKE OR FIND EVIDENCE OF SMOKING (IE, CIGARETTE, ETC) WHEN INTEGRITY CHK OF LAVATORY ACCOMPLISHED. PAX'S RPTING TO FLT ATTENDANT WERE IN FORWARD COACH. PAX SUSPECTED, BUT NOT CONFIRMED, OF SMOKING WAS NEAR RPTING PAX. FLT ATTENDANT INDICATED THAT PAX DID NOT ADMIT TO SMOKING. NO SMOKING SIGN SWITCH IN COCKPIT WAS CONFIRMED IN 'ON/NO SMOKING' POS. MAINT CHKS ACCOMPLISHED. UNEVENTFUL FLT TO DEST COMPLETED.
