Narrative:

On takeoff we received a #2 ahrs failure (attitude and heading reference system). This caused the first officer's heading system and attitude indicator to fail. In the confusion of ascertaining our problem, we drifted left from the runway heading assigned us. Due to other traffic, tower immediately gave us a right turn to 245 degrees to help separation with another aircraft. No TCASII advisories or conflicts were received, but separation was compromised slightly.
