Narrative:

We were #1, or #2 in line for takeoff at runway 13 at lga when the tower controller told us to call clearance delivery for a full route rerte. We told him that it would take a couple of mins to get the route programmed into the box (FMS). We were then cleared into position on the runway. We were not ready. So they told us to taxi down the runway to hold short of taxiway aa. The signs were not clearly marked for that taxiway and I did not want to enter runway 22, so when they told us to exit the runway, I turned short of the taxiway and ended up on the concrete between runway 13 and taxiway G. We were instructed to get back on a taxiway and call ground. We did manage to get back on the taxiway without any further problem. I felt the timing for a call to change our clearance while that close to takeoff was poor. The reroute could have been done in the air much easier. Also the controllers were in way too much of a rush and I felt that both the ground controllers and tower controllers were task saturated to give us proper service.

Title: AN F100 CREW, TURNED OFF RWY PRIOR TO ATC'S ASSIGNED TXWY, ENDING UP ON A NON TAXI AREA.

Narrative: WE WERE #1, OR #2 IN LINE FOR TKOF AT RWY 13 AT LGA WHEN THE TWR CTLR TOLD US TO CALL CLRNC DELIVERY FOR A FULL RTE RERTE. WE TOLD HIM THAT IT WOULD TAKE A COUPLE OF MINS TO GET THE RTE PROGRAMMED INTO THE BOX (FMS). WE WERE THEN CLRED INTO POS ON THE RWY. WE WERE NOT READY. SO THEY TOLD US TO TAXI DOWN THE RWY TO HOLD SHORT OF TXWY AA. THE SIGNS WERE NOT CLEARLY MARKED FOR THAT TXWY AND I DID NOT WANT TO ENTER RWY 22, SO WHEN THEY TOLD US TO EXIT THE RWY, I TURNED SHORT OF THE TXWY AND ENDED UP ON THE CONCRETE BTWN RWY 13 AND TXWY G. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO GET BACK ON A TXWY AND CALL GND. WE DID MANAGE TO GET BACK ON THE TXWY WITHOUT ANY FURTHER PROB. I FELT THE TIMING FOR A CALL TO CHANGE OUR CLRNC WHILE THAT CLOSE TO TKOF WAS POOR. THE REROUTE COULD HAVE BEEN DONE IN THE AIR MUCH EASIER. ALSO THE CTLRS WERE IN WAY TOO MUCH OF A RUSH AND I FELT THAT BOTH THE GND CTLRS AND TWR CTLRS WERE TASK SATURATED TO GIVE US PROPER SVC.
