Narrative:

After landing ind runway 5R, exited runway 5R at taxiway D3. Received taxi instructions to ramp at main terminal. We missed taxiway north and began to cross runway 32/14 at taxiway D rather than taxiway H. Ind ground gave permission to go ahead and cross runway 32/14 and taxi to ramp. Contributing factor to this error was we followed a commuter jet down final, and off runway (he was about 1/2 mi ahead). He evidently received taxi of taxiway D, taxiway M, taxiway H and parked at same ramp. I mistakenly followed him and had not been to ind in a long time.

Title: MD88 CAPT BECAME COMPLACENT DURING TAXI IN AND FOLLOWED THE RTE OF ANOTHER COMPANY ACFT GOING TO THE SAME GATE AREA RESULTING IN A RWY INCURSION.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG IND RWY 5R, EXITED RWY 5R AT TXWY D3. RECEIVED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO RAMP AT MAIN TERMINAL. WE MISSED TXWY N AND BEGAN TO CROSS RWY 32/14 AT TXWY D RATHER THAN TXWY H. IND GND GAVE PERMISSION TO GO AHEAD AND CROSS RWY 32/14 AND TAXI TO RAMP. CONTRIBUTING FACTOR TO THIS ERROR WAS WE FOLLOWED A COMMUTER JET DOWN FINAL, AND OFF RWY (HE WAS ABOUT 1/2 MI AHEAD). HE EVIDENTLY RECEIVED TAXI OF TXWY D, TXWY M, TXWY H AND PARKED AT SAME RAMP. I MISTAKENLY FOLLOWED HIM AND HAD NOT BEEN TO IND IN A LONG TIME.
