Narrative:

ATC gave us a turn to 140 degree heading. I read back 140 degree heading. In the turn, the copilot noticed traffic 2300 ft below and climbing. When I called to question ATC, we received a climb RA. I notified ATC we were responding to a climb RA, at which time he turned us. After returning to 7000 ft, I asked ATC if we had created the conflict. He said no. I asked 'should I call him after we land?' he said no. Later we heard air carrier Y on the frequency. The controller might have meant to vector air carrier Y, however he said air carrier X.
