Narrative:

On mar/tue/02, I was working on aircraft X on line routine overnight check. We had an MEL on the WX radar (antenna fault). We got a new drive motor shipped in from ZZZ. It was bad from stock maintenance control. Made the call to rob aircraft Y, the problem being number 67 is removed from service and its records removed from maintenance computer. The only way to make parts serviceable was to hand print a tag. The trouble with that is rotable parts need a numbered tag for tracking and that number is a required item in the logbook. I cleared the MEL without this number. All of this was done under maintenance control and line supervisor direction.
