Narrative:

While attempting to close jammed cockpit door upon returning from lavatory, the first officer's right thumb was cut through thumb nail. First officer was in pain and bleeding. His thumb was wrapped to stop bleeding and ice was applied. Approximately 2 mins later, ATC questioned our heading and airway. We were then assigned a heading. ATC did not indicate there was a problem. We were on J85...J83 is within 9 degrees off spa VOR.

Title: DC9-30 FO WAS INJURED WHILE TRYING TO FREE A JAMMED COCKPIT DOOR.

Narrative: WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE JAMMED COCKPIT DOOR UPON RETURNING FROM LAVATORY, THE FO'S R THUMB WAS CUT THROUGH THUMB NAIL. FO WAS IN PAIN AND BLEEDING. HIS THUMB WAS WRAPPED TO STOP BLEEDING AND ICE WAS APPLIED. APPROX 2 MINS LATER, ATC QUESTIONED OUR HDG AND AIRWAY. WE WERE THEN ASSIGNED A HDG. ATC DID NOT INDICATE THERE WAS A PROB.
