Narrative:

After landing on runway 35, I exited at taxiway H3. The tower controller asked if we knew our ramp entry point. We did not and he switched us to ground control. I continued holding short of taxiway H on taxiway H3 as my first officer contacted ground. Ground also queried us on our entry point, which we still had not determined. He then cleared us to 'turn left there and taxi golf to the ramp.' I mistakenly turned onto taxiway H and taxied sbound to H4 without conflict. Several factors contributed to this mistake. An air carrier B737 had taxied up to H3 on taxiway G as we cleared the runway. I heard none of his communications with ground control. Taxiway G was closed between taxiway H5 and taxiway F. Normally we enter the ramp at taxiway E5 or taxiway E4 and would have to taxi on taxiway H to bypass the construction on taxiway G. The ground controller's use of the phrase 'turn there' implied turn on the taxiway immediately in front of me. As I completed the turn onto taxiway H, the clearance 'via golf' registered with me. My concern with the other jet was that I did not want to cut in front of him on taxiway G, having not heard a clearance for him to hold short of my intersection and to a lesser extent I did not want to delay his taxi. The combination of ground traffic, taxiway construction, and our 'normal' taxi route to our 'normal' ramp entry points made turning on taxiway H the logical route.

Title: TXWY INCURSION OCCURS WHEN THE PIC OF A B737 TAXIES ONTO TXWY H INSTEAD OF TXWY G AT MCO, FL.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 35, I EXITED AT TXWY H3. THE TWR CTLR ASKED IF WE KNEW OUR RAMP ENTRY POINT. WE DID NOT AND HE SWITCHED US TO GND CTL. I CONTINUED HOLDING SHORT OF TXWY H ON TXWY H3 AS MY FO CONTACTED GND. GND ALSO QUERIED US ON OUR ENTRY POINT, WHICH WE STILL HAD NOT DETERMINED. HE THEN CLRED US TO 'TURN L THERE AND TAXI GOLF TO THE RAMP.' I MISTAKENLY TURNED ONTO TXWY H AND TAXIED SBOUND TO H4 WITHOUT CONFLICT. SEVERAL FACTORS CONTRIBUTED TO THIS MISTAKE. AN ACR B737 HAD TAXIED UP TO H3 ON TXWY G AS WE CLRED THE RWY. I HEARD NONE OF HIS COMS WITH GND CTL. TXWY G WAS CLOSED BTWN TXWY H5 AND TXWY F. NORMALLY WE ENTER THE RAMP AT TXWY E5 OR TXWY E4 AND WOULD HAVE TO TAXI ON TXWY H TO BYPASS THE CONSTRUCTION ON TXWY G. THE GND CTLR'S USE OF THE PHRASE 'TURN THERE' IMPLIED TURN ON THE TXWY IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF ME. AS I COMPLETED THE TURN ONTO TXWY H, THE CLRNC 'VIA GOLF' REGISTERED WITH ME. MY CONCERN WITH THE OTHER JET WAS THAT I DID NOT WANT TO CUT IN FRONT OF HIM ON TXWY G, HAVING NOT HEARD A CLRNC FOR HIM TO HOLD SHORT OF MY INTXN AND TO A LESSER EXTENT I DID NOT WANT TO DELAY HIS TAXI. THE COMBINATION OF GND TFC, TXWY CONSTRUCTION, AND OUR 'NORMAL' TAXI RTE TO OUR 'NORMAL' RAMP ENTRY POINTS MADE TURNING ON TXWY H THE LOGICAL RTE.
