Narrative:

We departed mco for ase. We were climbing normally and talking to ZJX. We were cleared to FL350. Climbing out of around FL315, the controller shouted to us to stop our climb. We did, at which point an RA on the TCASII told us to descend. We descended and a possible conflict was avoided. At the time of the incident, we were IMC and never saw the traffic. We queried ATC as to what just happened. Nothing was said, and we were handed off to the next controller. Talking to the next controller, we asked for a phone number to call to query more about the incident. The other pilot spoke with the supervisor at the center and mentioned that the controller had been relieved and the incident was under investigation. The conversation concluded stating that everyone strives for safety.
