Narrative:

After takeoff, main gear would not retract. Advised ATC that we wanted to return to dtw. We got vectored for an ILS runway 3R at dtw. Landed, taxied to ramp. Maintenance found both main gear pins still installed. So did a walkaround prior to flight and said they were not installed during the preflight walkaround. Logbook showed they had been removed prior to our flight. A mechanic said he had installed them because the ramp was slippery.
