Narrative:

During the roll out on runway 30 at abq I turned off the runway too early and hit a runway edge light. After I landed I decided to turn off onto taxiway C. I wanted to take this taxiway to get off the runway quickly, because there was another airplane on about a 2 mi final. I spotted what I thought was the turn off to the taxiway and turned. I turned here because at this spot the taxiway lights had a large gap in them, and I did not see the runway light in the gap. After I turned off I heard a clang from the right side of the airplane. I looked right to see what the noise was. This is when I realized I was not on the taxiway. I received permission to continue taxiing to parking. The next morning I examined the area I taxied through and that is when I realized I had hit a light. I believe this event could have been prevented with lighted taxiway lead-in lights.
