Narrative:

Reopened runway 5/23 at dsm does not have airport, performance data. On descent into dsm we were told to expect runway 23 for landing. Our dsm page airport plate showed runway 5/23 closed for repairs. We queried approach who said runway 5/23 reopened last december. (It was lengthened from 6500 ft to 9500 ft.) in our paperwork, the field report showed runway 5/23 as being open and dry. Approach said that runway 5/23 is now the longest runway at dsm, the primary runway, and the only runway in use. Runway 23 has a VOR approach with straight in minimums, so it had been authority/authorized for air carrier use prior to the renovation. So as not to incur an undo delay waiting for dsm to switch runways, I elected to land on runway 23. This morning, while doing my preflight planning, I noticed runway 5/23 was not listed in the airport performance data. I called dispatch and discovered that air carrier has not yet developed new data for the improved runway 5/23. It's a big time gotcha. If we are not authority/authorized to use runway 5/23, the field report should state that runway 5/23 is closed to air carrier aircraft until further notice. We need to get it approved soon, as according to the agents everyone, including air carrier is using it.

Title: F100 CREW NOTED THE COMMERCIAL ARPT CHART AND COMPANY PAPERWORK WERE NOT UPDATED TO REFLECT A NOW OPEN AND EXTENDED RWY AT DSM.

Narrative: REOPENED RWY 5/23 AT DSM DOES NOT HAVE ARPT, PERFORMANCE DATA. ON DSCNT INTO DSM WE WERE TOLD TO EXPECT RWY 23 FOR LNDG. OUR DSM PAGE ARPT PLATE SHOWED RWY 5/23 CLOSED FOR REPAIRS. WE QUERIED APCH WHO SAID RWY 5/23 REOPENED LAST DECEMBER. (IT WAS LENGTHENED FROM 6500 FT TO 9500 FT.) IN OUR PAPERWORK, THE FIELD RPT SHOWED RWY 5/23 AS BEING OPEN AND DRY. APCH SAID THAT RWY 5/23 IS NOW THE LONGEST RWY AT DSM, THE PRIMARY RWY, AND THE ONLY RWY IN USE. RWY 23 HAS A VOR APCH WITH STRAIGHT IN MINIMUMS, SO IT HAD BEEN AUTH FOR ACR USE PRIOR TO THE RENOVATION. SO AS NOT TO INCUR AN UNDO DELAY WAITING FOR DSM TO SWITCH RWYS, I ELECTED TO LAND ON RWY 23. THIS MORNING, WHILE DOING MY PREFLT PLANNING, I NOTICED RWY 5/23 WAS NOT LISTED IN THE ARPT PERFORMANCE DATA. I CALLED DISPATCH AND DISCOVERED THAT ACR HAS NOT YET DEVELOPED NEW DATA FOR THE IMPROVED RWY 5/23. IT'S A BIG TIME GOTCHA. IF WE ARE NOT AUTH TO USE RWY 5/23, THE FIELD RPT SHOULD STATE THAT RWY 5/23 IS CLOSED TO ACR ACFT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WE NEED TO GET IT APPROVED SOON, AS ACCORDING TO THE AGENTS EVERYONE, INCLUDING ACR IS USING IT.
